Hey there! Hi there! Ho there!

It’s a new week and I have a brand-new giveaway just for you—my gorgeous readers. So let us jump right in and see how it goes…

Featured on my Vlog this week:

  • I had some action on Twitter this week when I posted a stern “tsk tsk” to Bob Harper for his new book “Jump Star to Skinny: The Simple Three-Week Plan for Supercharged Weight Loss” which promotes an 800 calorie per day diet for women (1200 for men) in order to lose up to 20 pounds in three weeks for a special occasion. Bob went on the Today show to talk about it (check out the clip here) and, of course, his feet were not exactly held to the fire here.
    • Even though this is supposed to be a news program (hardy har har!) Bob is a big star for NBC and they are not going to embarrass him by letting him know that 800 calories per day is considered by many health experts to be not only dangerous but at an eating disorder level. (Shaking my head…)
  • I show my next magazine reviews including Fitness, Health, Shape, SELF and Muscle and Fitness Hers.

  1. I SO LOVE THIS!!! I am with you on the skinny sh*t, 🙂 , and on the Bob thing big time!! So disappointed in him!!! Carla is writing about it on her FB page today!

  2. I’m so glad I stumbled across you bringing up this Bob Harper ridiculousness! My friend is attempting this diet and I am so put off by it. 800 calories is just NOT healthy. Thanks for vlogging about this. Makes me feel better I’m not the only one who feels this way about it.

  3. To be fair he does say the 800 calorie thing is not permanent. It’s just supposed to jump start quick fat loss. Anyway, have you heard about the latest fitness controversial book The Thigh Gap Hack from one of our very own brooklynites? Would love to see your thoughts about this one in another post lol

    • I acknoweledge he is not talking about 800 calories being a permamnet thing but that is part of the problem. He is selling a quick fix which sets people up for failure and then feeling worse about themselves. Quick fixes ultimately fail and Bob knows this.

      So what is this Thigh Gap thing? Am I going to be upset? LOL!
