What a Creep: Charles Lindbergh

Season 11, Episode 5

Aviator Creep

Charles Lindbergh is one of the most important aviators in the history of flight. Not just on earth, but also in space where he is one of the grandfathers of the U.S. Space Program. He went from being a national hero to an international disgrace and back to hero status in his 72 years of life.

He was handsome, eloquent, and brave. He spoke about old-fashioned American values and the importance of living a curious life. Lindbergh was also a racist, sexist, anti-Semitic asshole who believed in eugenics and preserving a master race. When he died, he was considered a legend who was a devout conservationist and hero.

In this episode, we will dive into the world of “Lucky Lindy” (a name he hated, so I will use it throughout the episode) and the almost scary way he almost changed the entire course of world history.
