And now—here’s this week’s Vlog which features my new yoga gear & DVDs giveaway, a groovy Digital Scale from the folks at EatSmart Products plus the well-meaning but kind of condescending remarks I heard over a holiday meal about my healthy lifestyle. Oh–and my sister advised me to “show more skin” so I obliged. 🙂

New ‘ELEMENT: INTRO TO YOGA” DVD is the Perfect Place to Start!

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Doesn’t it seem like there are more yoga studios than nail salons lately? In fact, the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association reports that participation in yoga is up 16.8% for the past two years. Not only does it provide an easy way to begin a yoga practice right at home, it also offers an intermediate practice to grow into. Each practice is about thirty minutes long.


The “Element: Intro to Yoga” DVD is the newest offering from this best-selling mind/body DVD brand. It’s designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to yoga so that one may begin at any level and continually progress. Instructor Tamal Dodge’s fundamentals program moves step-by-step through the basics of yoga breathing, foundation postures, and short vinyasa flows. His intermediate sequence introduces the next stage of postures, offering more challenging versions of fundamental poses, and flowing through a series of full sun salutations. Both of these programs will build strength and tone muscle while they improve balance, increase flexibility, aid in relaxation, and allow anyone to begin realizing the positive impact that yoga can have.


No props are needed for these programs aside from a yoga mat though a yoga block may be helpful. As with all “Element” DVDs, this was filmed in a lush, tranquil location overlooking the ocean.


Raised in Hawaii on his family’s yoga ashram, Tamal Dodge began teaching yoga at the age of 16. He is the co-founder of The Yoga Collective, one of the largest yoga studios in the Los Angeles area, and is the owner/director of the Tamal Yoga School, a national yoga certification program. When he is not teaching at his studio or school, Tamal spends much of his time touring the world to share the benefits of yoga with people of all ages. His goal is not only to help people become physically fit but ultimately happier and more fulfilled. A talented composer and musician, Dodge composed the soundtrack and played most of the instruments on the DVD. He works with several celebrities including Cheryl Hines of “Suburgatory”.
