What Did We Learn This Month?
Women’s Health: June 2013
Women’s Health Cover Star for June 2013:
Spanish actress Elsa Pataky is starring in the sure-to-be smash Fast & Furious 6 and in real life she is married to hunky actor Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Avengers.) The very fit thespian admits she is essentially “addicted” exercise and loves to keep in top condition with a combination of strength training, martials arts, yoga and Pilates.
When not working out or acting, Elsa is a mom to a toddler daughter, is working on a documentary about children around the world and is planning on writing a book with her trainer Fernando Sartorious. (Whew!)
So what else is in the June issue of Women’s Health?
“The No-Sweat Zone”
Women’s Health gives us this lunchtime workout that will help you burn calories without looking like a sloppy mess afterwards. This particular one comes from LA-based trainer Holly Perkins and should take 20 minutes tops.
“Your Body on Ice Cream”
This is going to be my first dairy-free summer and articles like this remind me I am going to have moments of loss and regret. (Damn, I love my Softee cones!)
15 Minute Workout
This month’s “15 Minute Workout” comes from author Nicole Glor (The Slimnastics Workout) which will get your cardio in in record time.
“Sneaky Places Stress Shows Up”
Is your hair falling out? Do you have a twitchy eyeball? Does your stomach bother you from time to time? It might be stress trying to get the better of you so watch out!
“What Grill Master Know”
Summer means bringing out the grill which makes my heart soar. Here we get advice from the grilling masters.
“6 New Sun Care Secrets”
The best of the new lotions and potions to protect your skin in the summertime are featured in this feature.
And now the rest of the best of this issue of Women’s Health:
- “Beauty Awards Winners!” Women’s Health picked the latest and greatest in makeup, skin care, hair care and all that makes me a happy product junkie.
- “Cut Above the Rest” The swimsuits featured in this story made me want to lay out on the beach and sip on a fruity drink. (So cute!)
- “I Get a Running Start” I am one of those folks who does not “get” running. Never, EVER enjoyed it and do not understand people who do. Women’s Health asked the running experts out there to give advice to the running-challenged.
- “Do the Next Best Thing” I enjoyed this beauty/health story that gives you short cuts when you can’t do what you know you SHOULD do every day.
A! My favorite read this month so far. Good job Women’s Health!
