Hey there! Hi there! Hi there!

Hey gang! Guess what happened in New York City? Hold on to your knickers but we have had TWO ENTIRE DAYS (in a row) over 50 degrees & sunny!! Whoo hoo! After several weeks in a row of cold & damp rain, excessive snow, frigid temps and fogginess it feels great to run errands and not have to bundle up to within an inch of my life. In fact, it feels pretty damn terrific though I know spring really not arrive for a few more weeks. (Oh spring–I will see you again, won’t I?)

In the meantime, I have a few fun items to share with you today plus my newest giveaway—Blue Diamond almonds!

So what happened this past week?

  • While on assignment with Fit Bottomed Girls this past week I went to a yoga session & luncheon hosted by ZICO coconut water at Exhale Spa to celebrate Olympic Alpine Skier Julia Mancuso and her return from the Sochi games. The Olympian even brought her bronze medal along and let us all check it out!  I will send you the link for this post as soon as it is live. In the meantime—here is a photo of the lovely (and patient) Julia allowing me to ogle her bronze medal. (Those things are super heavy, by the way!)

  • Also for Fit Bottomed Girl I wrote this article about Superstar Gym and their “Fitwalker” class which is basically a treadmill workout that uses pure leg power. As in you do not plug it in or turn it on. You just get on it work your little butt off. Anyone want to take a class with me? Let me know! Hey there! Hi there! Hi there!

How are you all doing? Since my incident of vertigo (BPPV) a couple of weeks ago I have been feeling much better (thanks so much to all of you who checked in with me. I really appreciate it.) The key when you are dealing with this type of an ailment is to learn to enjoy life’s little victories. Such as “Hey—I managed to lie back in the washing station chair at the salon and not get dizzy!”  And “Ooh, I can reach down and tie my shoe laces without falling over—cool!”  I have no idea if I will “tumble” again but I if I do—the next time I will not be as scared because and will know what the hell is going and treat the symptoms.

I have not had taken any kind of medicine (over-the-counter or prescribed) in over a week and the exercises I have found on You Tube (particularly this one from As Dr. Jo) have been most helpful. It still makes me nervous to think about teaching core moves on my back (in a supine position)—but I am getting stronger every day and will be back to my old self soon.

Anyhoo—I actually had a fun week starting with my NYC Blogger Brunch held in my apartment-whoo hoo! It’s been hella cold out here and I was worried people would bail out of the schlep to Brooklyn but we had a few brave & hearty souls come by. You can read an excellent recap here from my friend Cassandre of Losing in the City (sorry my cat scared you!) And while our conversation was private (we may have gossiped just a wee bit…) it was fun, light-hearted and full of reciprocated love.

Next time I host I will do a better job of getting the word out on Facebook (I realized I left some pretty groovy friends off of the first invite by accident—dammit!) But if you want to win your own goodie bag form the event just hang on and I will give you the details below.

It’s 2014 and I am back in the Blogging saddle—whoo hoo! December was sort of a roller coaster of wonderful and annoying occurrences but I am finally over my Christmas cold, my back is feeling better , I am back to my regular teaching schedules and am ready to get back to my orderly, scheduled life. (Really—I am rather orderly in my everyday life!)

This year I broke away from my usual declarations for the New Year. To be honest—all of my possible mottos, promises, and intentions that I almost wrote on this Blog seemed trite. 2013 was a pretty great year and I am really looking forward to what is around the corner. Maybe I am learning to temper my expectations? Perhaps I need to think on it some more. But I faced a blank page every day for a week trying to come up with New Year’s post that would hopefully be inspiring and came up with nothing.

How about you? Did you come up with any resolutions? What are you planning to take on this year? I want to hear all about it!

Anyway—here are the notes for my first Vlog post for 2014:
