“Murder on the Orient Express”

The Margos officially review the 2017 movie

Hooray for another movie review episode! This past November the Margos covered “Murder on the Orient Express” and we were asked online why we did not cover the Kenneth Branagh-directed film in that particular show. Well, the answer is simple, we only talk about books and movies that are easy to get and watch. Not everyone lives near a movie theater and going out for that can be far too time-consuming and expensive for some.

In this ep we review the 2017 reboot and give our thoughts and feelings about it. So between the book and several movies–which did the Margos like better? Check out the link below to find out.

In this episode the Margos discuss:

  • The gorgeous look of the film
  • The updates made to reflect more modern values
  • Branagh’s interpretation of the part Hercule Poirot (including that mustache!)
  • The multiracial casting choices
  • How this film tackles the denouement of the story
  • Whether or not we will come back for the follow-up movie by Branagh

Clips Featured:

  • Murder on the Orient Express  trailer
  • Outro Music Never Forget by Michelle Pfeiffer (Written by Patrick Doyle and Kenneth Branagh)
